Tournament Rules and Practicalities

Below we have collected tournament rules and guidelines to ensure a smooth process and a fun and inclusive tournament for everyone. For an overview of the tournaments and schedules for both European Championship 2025 and Week of Nightmares see Tournaments.

Tournament rules overview

Registration

The EC2025 will host some of the biggest tournaments of the year, requiring efficient handling of registrations, seating, scoring, and more. The EC2025 team is working hard to make this process smooth, but we need your cooperation.

Please follow these simple guidelines:

Proxies

Proxies are allowed in all tournaments except for the European Championship Day 1 and Day 2. Ensure your proxies meet the standards outlined in the tournament rules, and know the difference between PDF expansions and proxies. For clarification, please refer to vekn.org, as we enforce but do not create these rules.

Decklists

Decklists are not required (updated 12/10/2025).

Announcing Actions and Cards

Clear communication is essential to avoid misplays or judge calls. Always:

  • Announce actions, cards played, and their effects.

  • Specify disciplines used and the level they are activated at.

  • For vote cards, clearly indicate when terms are being set versus when they are just being discussed.

Help us ensure a smooth and enjoyable tournament experience for everyone!

Registration, tickets and schedule

Registration and tickets

Ready to sign up? Great! Register online for EC 2025 tournaments and our Week of Nightmare events. You can find more information, schedules and links to sign-up from the event page.

You pay online as part of the sign-up.

Tickets

When you register online you will receive tickets for your selected events that you must bring with you to the event.

Each Week of Nightmare event will have a separate ticket. For the main tournaments you will receive one ticket for all three days.

Check-in

Bring your tickets to the event - either as eTickets in Apple/Google Wallet, printed on paper or the PDF on your phone.

We scan them at the door and then you are registered for that day’s tournament. For multi-day events such as EC itself, you use the same ticket to check in for both Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You should have received it via email with a QR code when you registered.

Have your ticket ready and easy to access.

If you don’t have it or can’t find it, contact jesper@woeldiche.dk and we’ll resend it.

If you arrive without a ticket, if scanning fails, or if you’re registered for the wrong tournament on Friday, you’ll be directed to the Information Booth to resolve it.

Important: You must be scanned or have your registration verified at the booth before the registration window closes (see schedule). This is your responsibility.

Keep updated with the schedule

The updated schedule is always available at www.vtes-ec2025.org/event-schedule

Substantial updates or changes will be announced by email. If you add your tickets to the wallet on iPhone or Android, you should receive updates as notifications to your phone.

Seating

Seating for all events will be published online at www.vtes-ec2025.org/seatings, on Discord as well as available on at the venue.
